Introduction to web development

Thanks to digitization, the demand for developers is high these days. Get to know the basics of web development now and open further doors for your future as a digital native.

Languages ​​and concepts of web development are learned playfully and practically:
The course is suitable for anyone interested. Especially for people who work with Excel and want to optimize their processes. But also for students and academics who want to publish their work and results in an interactive form. Or for all people who are professionally involved with websites and applications and would like to get an insight into the technical side. The course covers the following topics: 

  1. Web languages ​​HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, SQL
  2. Development and structuring of web applications
  3. Implementation of an individual web application

Course

No IT knowledge needed. An own laptop is prefarable. 

Dates

Course dates     21.10.2021 – 25.11.2021 (6 weeks)

                          Thursdays fom 6:15 pm – 9 pm

                          3 lessons (each 45 min) per day, 18 lessons in total 

Costs

Evening course: CHF  650.00  (per course)
If there are fewer than 5 students, small group rates will be charged.

Course requirements

No IT knowledge needed. An own laptop is prefarable.

Introduction to software development

You will be thought fundamental software development concepts in a playful and practical way (programming language: Java). These are the basis for later applications and thus encourages a faster and deeper understanding of the topics based on them in your studies. Experience shows that at the University you hardly have time to go into the basics and specific questions.
You will be actively supported in their implementation by experienced software developers on a personal basis.

The course covers following topics:

  1. Development environment, data types and basic commands
  2. Conditions, loops and functions
  3. Algorithms
  4. Recursive functions
  5. Object orientation

Course requirements

No IT knowledge needed. An own laptop is prefarable.
